I've never been much of a "5 a.m. get-up-for-yoga-and-green-juice" person. Mornings at my house usually start with a blonde toddler asking for milk and dinosaurs. Sometimes in that order.
For years, I thought I needed a perfect, calm morning routine to feel good about myself. But now I know: it doesn't have to be complicated. A few simple habits, practiced consistently, can do wonders for your glow, your energy, and your peace of mind, even before the day really begins.
This is a routine that moves with you, not against you.
You've probably heard it a hundred times, but it's true: your body is slightly dehydrated when you wake up. A large glass of water in the morning helps hydrate your cells, kick-start your digestion, and stimulate your circulation—all things you'll see reflected in your skin.
Bonus points if you add some lemon juice or a pinch of sea salt for minerals. But honestly? Even plain water works wonders.
Juve Naturals fits perfectly into my morning routine. One scoop in cold water or juice, usually while my son is asking for a story.
My tip: don't mix it with hot drinks. Heat can intensify the natural bitterness of the amino acids, making it less palatable. Cold is the way to go.
You provide your body with the right amino acids, vitamin C and other collagen-supporting ingredients to start the day right.
And if you do this daily, it will naturally become a routine. Just like brushing your teeth, but for your skin.
Exercise doesn't have to be an hour-long workout. Simply activating your body helps with your circulation, lymphatic drainage, and natural energy production.
A walk around the block, stretching while the kettle is on, or dancing to the soundtrack of Moana in the kitchen (my current reality) all count. Exercise also helps lower your cortisol levels. And chronically elevated stress hormones can break down your collagen faster.¹
Taking a step outside in the morning or simply sitting by a window helps regulate your body clock. This means better sleep, a better mood, and better hormone balance. All factors that promote collagen production and skin health.²
Do you have 30 seconds of peace? Take them. Breathe in. Think of something pleasant. Look at the trees. I used to think rituals had to be long and spiritual, but even small moments of mindfulness can transform your entire day.
When your body feels nourished and grounded, you radiate that. Not only through your skin, but also in how you move and present yourself.
There's no gold medal for waking up early or ticking off every wellness trend. What matters is creating habits that feel good, are kind to your body, and fit your life.
Whether your morning is calm or chaotic, a few mindful steps can make all the difference.
